Shannon O’Malley is a copywriter and Creative Director in the SF Bay Area. She’s worked with AKQA, FCB Global, Cutwater, EVB, and others; I’m currently the creative director at Kalamuna. She also has an amazing - happening/book project, GAY MEN DRAW VAGINAS, which happens to feature many drawings from local gay ad designers and art directors with whom she’s worked with.
Gay Men Draw Vaginas
Perfect for dignified dinner parties or that special holiday homecoming, Gay Men Draw Vaginas includes 220 pages of full-color vag drawings, all inside a handsome, offset printed, hard cover book.
For three years, Shannon O’Malley and Keith Wilson have been collecting vag drawings from the gays, from fine artists to average Joe Homos. Many of the drawings came out of art booth sessions they held in San Francisco, some of them were mailed to the editors, and some of them were solicited.
The Vaginas in this Book
Most of the drawings attempt to replicate anatomy, but many are conceptual or “abstract.” Keith and Shannon tried to include a good mix of both, and have arranged the art within thematic chapters in the book. Chapter examples include “Monsters,” “Buildings, Systems + Diagrams,” “Flora and Fauna,” and more.
